Heavy Weather: A Reinterpretation

Today, work began on the arrangement and production of Heavy Weather. Myself and Arthur Ford are collaborating to produce Weather Reports Heavy Weather arranged for multiple bass guitars and drums. As we both love Jaco Pastorius’ work and all he did for bass we wanted to reinterpret this album to really showcase the bass guitar and its versatility to a new audience who may be less aware of its ability to take the lead in a song. Our arrangements will feature a variety of different timbres and textures with both fretted and fretless basses to show what this instrument can really do. Once the arrangements are set out and written, we will begin the production of the record, tracking the album at The University of Sheffield Sound Studios.
